In this Blog I want to share my bad experience while using my bank card to buy a pair of trainers and what I learned from it.
I bought a pair of trainers in Footasylum Glasgow Braehead store in October
2021. I tried to use my bank card with contactless and chip and pin. Despite
there being plenty of money in my account the payment was declined on both
occasions. I was not given any receipts for the declined transactions. One of
my carers then paid for the shoes using her card and was given a receipt. When
we returned home my mum checked my online banking and although I was told my
payments were declined twice one of the payments had come from my account which
means the shoes were paid for twice. So, we spoke to the store on more than one
occasion about getting a refund and weren’t still any nearer to this. I have
emailed them all the details and paperwork they have asked for a couple of
times so they can send to their accounts department, but they haven’t even had
the decency to acknowledge these. As I am disabled and on benefits, I had saved
up to buy myself new trainers and shouldn’t have had to pay for them twice
through no fault of my own. A month went passed and I didn’t have money still
so with advice from TAG I put on my Social Media channels and in a few days my
money was back in my bank.
Like with any experiences you learn something from it, so I learned from
this always get a receipt when using a bank card especially it doesn’t work and
if you get charged twice keep going on at where ever until you get your problem
sorted.
